ABOUT ME:
I am an emerging digital visual artist working with moving image and installation. Having started in commercial filmmaking in 2011 I developed my career to incorporate the arts field, predominantly working in collaboration creating dance film, video design and arts documentary. I am a co-founder and associate director of UNIT who, between 2015 and 2017 were associate artists at Dance East. My portfolio includes commissions from DanceEast, Aldeburgh Music, Secondhand Dance, SouthEast Dance and Big Chill Festival. My dance film work has been screened throughout Europe, 'Waiting' (2016) was shortlisted and screened at The Eye, Amsterdam and in the same year ‘Coat Tales’ was screened at Sadlers Wells. In addition I taught part time for over 10 years in FE as a lecturer in media production and film theory.
Following the completion of my MA in Artist Film & Moving Image at Goldsmiths in 2021 I have made a step change towards becoming an independent artist working with digital technologies in an artistic context. In early 2022 I was awarded a DYCP grant to develop my independent practice over the year, this has in turn led to being accepted for a week-long residency with SPILL festival exploring digital exhibition modes. I have also recently received a commission from Colchester and Ipswich Museums as a digital artist to work within the community to create a work that will be installed as part of the Landscape Rebels exhibition.
